A Visit from Melody!

I was so excited to have my cousin Melody visit me
here in Virginia these past few days!! It was wonderful to
have her as a guest at my house here and to be able
to show her around and introduce her to some
of my friends here. I greatly enjoyed the visit and
appreciated her taking the time to come!!
Love you Melody!!!

Snowflex

So our school has this new thing called the Snowflex, its an
artifical ski slope. The material its made out of is kind of
like a toothbrush or velcro, and there are little things that
shoot out a mist to cover it. There's also a really nice ski
lodge on the mountain too, which is nice place to hang out.
Anyways, we decided to try out snowboarding!
Keep in mind, these pictures are all on the "nursery hill,"
basically the bunny slope. The big one is really big, and
even has a jump for those who have crazy skills.
I got the snowboarding part down, but dedided not
try the big hill because I still need to work on my
slowing down/stopping skills. They offer free lessons
for LU students, so I'd like to learn more. I could
even take snowboarding lessons over the summer! lol
It was quite an adeventure!
You can see the lights of Lynchburg below too,
the snowflex is at the top of a mountain
Ready to go!

Tracy was a little hesitant! In fact, there were
several screams... and the first rule that posted
was "#1 Remain Calm"

...brief break from nursing...

Hello! So I know that it has literally been forever since
I've blogged, so sorry!! Bascially, nursing
school= busy to the max. Right now, I'm taking a brief
10 min. break from studying for finals to write a little
and update about life. This semester, which has been filled
with learning, is coming to a close. While it's a relief that there
is a real mental break in sight,I have 5 exams to take before I
can truly relax and enjoy the Christmas season. Right now I'm
looking at OB nursing exams Dec. 9 and 11, Med-Surg nursing
final Dec. 14, and Pharmacology and Philosophy finals Dec 16.
Then, on the 17th, I'm planning on recovering and actually
getting some sleep in, then driving back to Ohio on the 18th.
It will be a packed few weeks! I hope you all get a chance to
enjoy the Christmas season, even in the midst
of the craziness of to do lists and errands.
See everyone in Ohio soon!

We're young... and crazy :)

So, my roommates and I were up late on Friday
night and we had the crazy idea to leave way early in
the morning to go to Virginia Beach for the day
Saturday. After a few minutes of deliberation,
we decided that the spontaneous trip was a must.
We packed up some food, towel, and sunscreen and
hit the road! Spending the 90 degree beautifully
sunny at the beach was amazing! :)

Walking to the car...
I kept Lis awake on the drive there
(P.S. Notice my new hair cut!!)
Arrival!

I love this picture of me and Lisa :)

The pier

Who does this?!? We do!!

Tracy took a dip in the freezing cold ocean!
I did later, but only up to my waist... the
water's still pretty chilly in April!

Update 2

Oh, and Lincoln, my fish, is doing well. Cleaning his bowl
is on the weekend to do list, but other than that he's a
happy little betta. Apparently, bettas produce "bubble nests"
(we googled them a lot after we got them), and that
means that they're happy. In the wild, they take care of t
he baby betta eggs in the nest. Anyways, Link has
lots of little bubbles, so I'm assuming he's a happy little guy.
Now I just have to figure the best way to transport him
from Virginina to Ohio.
